On March 8, 2025, Indiranagar Run Club (IRC) hosted its Women’s Day Special Run on 100 Feet Road, starting at 6 AM. The event, held in collaboration with Puma and Cosmix Wellness, featured Asha Sivasankaran as the Guest Runner.
By 6:30 AM, 200 women had gathered at the meeting point, receiving Puma-sponsored merchandise as they got acquainted with each other. Asha, a marathoner, traveler, and podcaster who also collaborates with nonprofits like the Bengaluru Sports Foundation, introduced herself. Sharing her journey of balancing fitness with a corporate career at Infosys, she delivered an inspiring speech about resilience, self-care, and the power of running. “Running welcomes all bodies and all people,” she said. “It’s something you do for yourself, and it’s far less painful than many other aspects of life! Choosing yourself first is always worth it.” She added with a smile, “Remember—strong is sexy, and life is too short for bad running shoes. Investing in good gear is investing in yourself!”
Following the introduction, Asha and the IRC Run Leads guided the participants through a warm-up session before dividing them into groups. At 7 AM, the 4 km run commenced, with Run Leads positioned at checkpoints to ensure a smooth experience for both beginners and seasoned runners.
After crossing the finish line, participants were awarded medals and plant protein powder from Cosmix Wellness. The morning concluded with a complimentary breakfast at Smokehouse Deli, where a photo booth by Selene Bangalore and fresh flowers added a celebratory touch. Reflecting on the event’s success, IRC’s founder, Prabhu, shared, “We had 200 tickets, and they sold out in just 36 hours. Running isn’t just a one-day activity—it’s about breaking barriers and prioritizing health every day.” Meenal, an IRC Run Lead, echoed this sentiment: “It’s incredible to see so many women wake up early, show up, and trust us with their running journey. This is exactly the energy we want to cultivate.”
With determination, camaraderie, and a commitment to fitness, the Women’s Day Special Run proved that running isn’t just about speed—it’s about strength, support, and self-belief.
